Growing vegetables is a never- ending source of pleasure and satisfaction to a gardener.Planting a vegetable garden will keep your taste buds busy and satisfied and your dinner platelooking wonderful! Even if you plant only a few vegetable patio pots, it counts as a harvest!

Bok Choy 'Bopak'

This Bok Choy  produces tall, heavy, full-sized heads with a mild and succulent flavor. The fleshy leaves are tender and crisp, upright and quick-growing. Remarkably bolt-resistant,‘Bopak’ can be planted every 2 weeks for a long harvest as it matures in 30-35 days.

A compact, high-yield hybrid variety ideal for growing as a mini. Dark green leaves growwell in spring and summer as plant is bolt and rot tolerant. Thrives in full sun to partialshade but requires consistent moisture

Tatsoi 'Koji'

A fast-growing hybrid Asian green with dark green, spoon-shaped leaves and a mild,mustard-like flavor. Extremely heat/cold tolerant and often used for stir-fries or salads.Can be harvested as baby leaf or full head.

Tatsoi

'Red Cloud'

This tatsoi is a high-yielding variety with striking deep burgundy-red leaves and brightgreen stems. Cupped, spoon-shaped leaves feature a mild, sweet flavor with a crunchytexture. Excellent for salads and stir-fries, it thrives in cool weather and sweetens afterfrost.

Kale

'black Magic'

A selection of Toscano kale with long, narrow, dark blue-green uniform leaves. Very mildtasting, thriving in both spring and warm weather, this member of the brassica familyharvests in 51 days, preferring well-drained soil and consistent moisture. Very hardy.

Kale 'sCarlet Bor'

A highly nutritious ornamental curly kale growing 24-36” tall. Frilly leaves transitionfrom deep green to purple-red; flavor sweetens after the first frost. Very cold tolerant,
this fast-growing kale is best harvested when leaves are 6” or less. Perfect for fallgardening and containers.

VEGETABLES

Beet

'Bull's Blood'

A multipurpose beet blood red to deep purple from its leaves to its roots with babyleaves ready to pick for gourmet salads in just 35 days! Frost hardy and sprouts in 14-21days; Sweet, earthy roots are ready to eat in 50 days, showing candy striping whensliced.

Cucumber 'Gherking'

This dark green climbing cucumber with white spines is perfect for pickling and requiresno pollinator. Early, large yields will not become bitter left on the vine. Best whentrellised, the ‘Gherking’ pickler is resistant to downy and powdery mildew.

Fennel 'Dragon'

High-yielding and bolt-resistant, this fennel is perfect for spring to late summer sowing,maturing in 75-90 days. Crunchy, white bulbs and feathery, anise-flavored foliage areused in salads and cooking. The plant thrives in full sun and is easy to grow, with a longshelf life.

Pumpkin 'SuPER Moon'

This award-winning F1 hybrid white pumpkin is known for its powdery mildewresistance and is suitable for carving, painting and cooking. Seeds can be planteddirectly in the ground, 2-4 weeks after the last frost, and will reach maturity in 90-100days. They prefer full sun and warm soil.

PEPPERS

The current choice has something for everyone. Ranging from small (great for patio pots) to large (stake for needed support), peppers ask only for sun, well-drained soil, consistent moisture and regular feeding. In return, they will feed you all summer long and into early fall!

Pepper

'Jimmy Nardello'

Grown in CT since 1887, these heirloom, long (10-12”), thin peppers are valued for theirrich, fruity flavor and are delicious fried, grilled or eaten raw. Grow in full sun; they willmature in 75-85 days and are considered easy to grow.

Pepper 'Red Impact'

Finally, an easy to grow, high yield Lamuyo-type pepper. Sweeter than other varietieswith thick walls even when green. Plants are upright and tidy; the fruit, as all peppersdo, turns from green to dark red and is uniform in shape and size.

This early maturing plant produces 4” long sweet peppers, turning to red from green asit grows. The pepper has thick walls, great for cooking and stuffing. Plant during coolgrowing periods.

This high yield, compact pepper is ideal for small gardens and pots. The upright peppersare considered 5 times hotter than jalapenos with a flavor perfect for Asian dishes andsalsas. Low maintenance; prefers full sun, regular water and tomato-type fertilizer.Considered a natural pest deterrent!
